ARTWATERENESS Final Exhibition

RACHA is thrilled to announce that our partner, Through Waters, is launching its final exhibition of ARTWATERENESS in Phnom Penh. The exhibit, featuring artworks the team gathered on a months' long bicycle tour through Cambodia. The ArtWatereness team also partnered with two Cambodian artists to perform artistic research about water and what it means for all of us.

RACHA was greatly honored to be one of the organizations visited by a delegation from the UK based organization RESULTS UK on February 21, 2014. The group was composed of Baroness Suttie, Michael Connarty MP, Laurence Robertson MP, Nic Dakin MP, Mark Pawsey MP, accompanied by Steve Lewis, Jess Kuehne, Megan Wilson-Jones and Reg Davis from RESULTS. RACHA Board member Mr. David Awcock, and a representative from Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), Mr. Richard Winterton also attended.

Thmor Puok Water Station Launch a Success

This lake, situated next to the Thmor Puok Station, provides the water for the district.

On Tuesday, February 25, local government of Banteay Mean Chey with RACHA's support, and the financial assistance from the Embassy of Japan, launched a Water Filtration Station in Thmor Puok District.

Over 500 Thmor Puok community members, schoolchildren, and district staff attended the launch. RACHA was honored to host several esteemed guests, including the Provincial Governor of Banteay Mean Chey, the Japanese Minister and Deputy Chief of the Mission to Cambodia, Mr. Higuchi Yoshiro, and his His Excellency Mr. Kosum Saroeut, the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Health, His Excellency Mr. Chou Yin Sin. The Provincial Coordinator of RACHA's Banteay Mean Chey Office, Dr. Kun Navuth, also spoke to those assembled.

RACHA Launching New Water Filtration Station in Thmor Pouk

The Water Filtration Station in Thmor Pouk, Banteay Mean Chey

RACHA, in collaboration with local partners, has been working diligently over the past year to build a water filtration system to increase access to safe drinking water for the community in Thmor Puok District, Banteay Mean Chey. Funded by the Japanese Embassy's KUSANONE (Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Projects) Project, the station will officially launch on Tuesday, February 25th, 2014. Community members surrounding the Thmor Puok station will be able to acquire 20 liter of safe drinking water for 500 riels. The local government has also provided free water for ID Poor families to ensure equitable access to safe drinking water.

CHOBA's Suppliers: Putting Planning Into Practice

RACHA's successful CHOBA program works closely with local suppliers to provide delivery and installation of the latrines for participating households throughout Rumlech, Kampong Kdey, and Svay Donkeo Communes in Bakan district, Pursat. Throughout implementation, CHOBA has been working with three suppliers in the area, two based in Pursat and one based in Battambang, to meet the demands of the participating communes. USAID Partners Share Achievements and Lessons Learned

At a well-attended conference at the Cambodiana Hotel in Phnom Penh on 20 December, RACHA joined other USAID-funded NGO’s RHAC (Reproductive Health Alliance Cambodia), URC (University Research Co), MSI (Marie Stopes International) and PSK (Population Services Khmer) to share achievements and lessons learned over the last five year period.
